“What’s an Omelas, and why are you calling yourself an exile?”

The title was inspired by the short story “Those Who Walk Away From Omelas”, by Ursula K Le Guin. Link to the story is at the bottom. Read it, and you’ll get it. Whether she meant it to be the case or not, this is probably the best parable on individualism and personal freedom there is.
